Chapter Eight

KANIA AND RAVEN TOOK a nap before showering and dressing.

With a half hour before she had to pick up the kids, they sat by the pool sipping lemonade. “When did it happen?”

She frowned. “When did what happen?”

“When did you give Bray your ass?”

Her cheeks burned. Discussing her sex life with Braden during intercourse was raunchy and sexy. When they were seated by the pool in the sunlight? Not so much. “Why do you ask?”

“Because I’d like to know. That is, if it isn’t too difficult to discuss. Is it?”

She cleared her throat. “It’s a little embarrassing.”

“Why? You can tell me anything without shame.”

“It happened years ago.”

“When?”

She turned her head, met his insistent gaze, and shrugged.

“It happened at my place. Didn’t it?”

She frowned. “Did Braden discuss it with you?”

“Of course not. He was, and to a certain extent, still very protective of you. So?”

She nodded. “Yes.”

“The night after I saw you nude?”

She looked away. “When you offered us the bed, I planned to just sleep. But Braden...after we made love, he whispered that he wanted my ass.”

“And?”

She inhaled quickly and turned to stare at him with her gaze narrowed. “And I gave it to him. Satisfied?”

“And?”

“And what? You want details?”

“Yes, cher, I do.”

“Why?”

“I don’t know why. I just do. Of course if it’s too painful to discuss—”

Damn he was persistent. “The first few times it hurt like hell.”

He inclined his head and remained silent.

Nosey fucker. “But then, it started to feel okay. The next thing I knew I loved feeling his big hot dog sliding in and out my ass. Have I mentioned that he has very good dick?” She said, annoyed that he wouldn’t let the subject drop.

“Yes. You have. More than once.”

Did she finally detect a hint of annoyance in his voice? “Does it bother you?”

“Your sleeping with Bray first?”

“Yes.”

“No. It doesn’t. I feel like he primed you.”

“For what?”

He reached out to hold her hand. “For me. Did it occur to you that it didn’t work out for you two because he was only priming you for me? I don’t care who you’ve slept with or who you’re married to. I just want and need you. I have from the moment we met. And just so you know, I’m not letting Hank have you back.”

“We have a little over five weeks...minus however much time you spent in Philly for Mother’s Day.”

“I wasn’t there last year, so I promised I’d spent a few days with her. I’m flying home on Saturday night and returning on Wednesday night. And what’s supposed to happen when Hank returns? You think I’m prepared to just walk away?”

“Will you do that if I beg you to?”

“I’d do almost anything for you—except give you up.”

“Will you use condoms for me?”

“No.”

“You want him to come home and find me shamelessly pregnant?”

“That would work for me.”

“But not for me.”

“Then you shouldn’t be so quick to flash that ass and part those alluring thighs.”

“And you should either learn how to cover your donkey dong or keep it in your pants.
